Ladies and gentlemen, after 6 years of cuts and RIF notices, we’ve reached a milestone.  Today is March 16, 2014… and yesterday was March 15, the deadline for districts across the state to issue preliminary RIF notices signalling possible “reductions in force” for the coming year.  The deadline has come and gone, and no RIF notices have been issued.  There will be no layoffs this year.
