The LTA Bargaining Team is in the process of visiting each school to explain our Bargaining Proposals and answer any questions that members have.  We would like everyone to go to one of those live meetings and hear the information first-hand for themselves, so I don’t want to post too much explanation here yet.   I already posted our initial Sunshine Proposal and the full text of all the LTA proposals to the website in a previous post (just scroll down  little), and  I will also post two new documents:

• The Bargaining Team actually re-sunshined our proposals, adding two additional articles, Tuesday night at the School Board meeting.  Time was provided for public comment.

• The district sunshined their proposals Tuesday night as well (although they didn’t actually get them to us until Wednesday).  Time will be provided for public comment on the district’s proposals at the next Board meeting (May 13).

Finally, the two Bargaining teams have agreed on three dates to meet and actually negotiate:  Friday, May 16; Tuesday, June 3; and Monday, June 16.  It is our desire to reach an agreement before the end of the school year, but not at the expense of achieving important goals that will help our students, empower our members, and be consistent with the goals and priorities of the Lennox community.

Please plan on attending the Bargaining meeting at your school site to get all the details of the proposals, and fill out the Commitment Cards the Organizing Team will pass to show your support for the Bargaining Team and the proposals they have put forward.
