New York Times Opinion Article: Profiting From A Child’s Illiteracy

I thought I’d share this. I read this article, and it is thought provoking.  I found it to be a well-balanced piece that highlights the need for investing in early childhood education as a means of ensuring a better future for our children, and preventing cultural poverty that can lead to failure later on in life.  Most interesting to me, this article emphasizes the need for children to grow up in families that are not fractured.  Bottom line, children who grow up with both parents are much less likely to suffer from financial and educational poverty.  Not a judgement on single moms and dads.  They are amazing.  Worth a read.
